About the Location
The airfield of Niedergörsdorf, nestled in the vast plains of Brandenburg, tells a story of rise, fall, and renewal. Founded in 1916 during World War I, it began as the visionary "Altes Lager" central airship base – a place where futuristic ambitions collided with the grim realities of war. However, the war’s end also marked the end of this era: The grand halls were dismantled, and silence returned.
In the 1930s, the airfield was repurposed by the National Socialists for their agenda. A modern airbase and aerotechnical school were built – relics of a dark time whose ideology we firmly reject. On April 20, 1945, this chapter ended abruptly with the arrival of the Red Army, marking the beginning of a new phase for the airfield.
Today, the Niedergörsdorf airfield is a vibrant cultural hub for our scene, celebrated for its creative freedom and musical energy. Close to this historic site, the legendary Freqs of Nature took place, and with its excellent connection to Berlin, the location continues to be a central point for new events. Here, history meets a forward-thinking spirit.
